Stacey has the instinctive ability to empower others to change their lives, impact their communities and to better shape their world. Counseling is not only Stacey’s passion, but it’s her gift. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland (LCSW-C) and The District of Columbia (LICSW). She has obtained 20 years of clinical experience in working with juveniles, adults, young couples, children, and their families. Her specialty is working with clients who are subject to: adjustment disorders, grief and loss, depression, bipolar, anxiety disorders, post trauma, and bariatric therapy.
In Stacey’s clinical tenure, she served as a Clinical Supervisor, a Therapist, and a Treatment Specialist. Her clinical training includes but not limited to conducting assessment evaluations and utilizing diagnostic tools to provide the most appropriate recommendation to better serve her clientele. She is an energetic facilitator in group work in the area of relapse prevention while implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and Motivational Interviewing practices as it relates to illicit substance use, dual diagnoses, and gender-specific groups.
Stacey received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, North Carolina and obtained her Master’s degree in Social Services (social work) with a concentration in Management from Bryn Mawr College for Women in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Stacey is equally devoted to the pursuit of equality for all Women. She serves on the women’s auxiliary at her local church, facilitates women support groups in her community and is a proud member of The Federally Employed Women (FEW). Her motto is to inspire, encourage and empower. In her pursuit, she has traveled to South America and West Africa to study community and women issues as it relates to religion and social welfare.
Moreover, Stacey is a Christian Counselor who believes the scripture, “Where there is no counsel, purposes will be disappointed but where there is a multitude of counsellors they are established” (Proverbs 15:22). Stacey Abraham is more than qualified to help you gain your purpose in life and she is here to assist you to reach your fullest potential.
