Jane Spell, LCPC, NCC
Practicing Since: 2011
Jane firmly believes the longer she lives, the more she finds out how much she doesn’t know. Jane is much more comfortable with people who can say, “I don’t know.” She don’t have all the answers, and she also welcomes your tough questions. Jane believes God wants us to become “wounded healers,” i.e., to turn our tragedies into triumphs – to go from victim to victor. He has already won the victory, and He wants us to emerge victorious, as well.
Jane believes the following are her strengths: Empathy, Encouragement, Enthusiasm, Excitement, and Exuberance. Warm, welcoming, compassionate, accepting presence. Lovingkindness and supportive.
One of her favorite verses that she incorporates into my practice is:
– “He will restore the years the locusts have eaten away.”
Joel 2:25.
Jane believes God wants to bring us out of darkness into light; to give us new eyes to see and new ears to hear – to understand; to be comforted, then transformed – to become whole; to love God, and our neighbors as ourselves; and to bring this radically Good News of freedom, healing, forgiveness, mercy, unconditional love, acceptance, and wholeness, to the whole wide world. God is The Master Physician, The Comforter, and The Wonderful Counselor who wants to restore our brokenness, to bring us to wholeness and wellness, and to have us live new life to the full.
Some of Jane’s areas of interests include the following: Helping to prevent human trafficking, rescuing victims of trafficking, and providing after-care for victims of trafficking. International Justice Mission (IJM) is a wonderful resource and a passion of hers. Jane also enjoys helping to restore the human spirit, dignity, and pride; wherever there is any type of human rights violations, oppression, and captivity. She believes Jesus is the Prince of Peace and wants freedom for all.
Jane is licensed in the state of Maryland #LC3896.
