Demaris Brown, Masters Level Clinical Intern
Practicing Since 2024
Demaris joined Safe Harbor as a Clinical Intern, driven by a desire to create a safe and relaxing environment where clients can truly be themselves. She tailors each session to the individual needs of her clients by understanding their unique circumstances and determining how best to support them.
Believing that positive mental health is crucial for overall wellness and resilience, Demaris employs a baseline theory of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, she is committed to meeting clients where they are and is open to exploring other therapeutic approaches such as Emotion-Focused, Solution-Focused, and Narrative Therapies to enhance the treatment process.
Demaris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is in the final semesters of her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is also certified by SYMBIS and has completed Gottman Level I training.
In her free time, Demaris enjoys being outdoors, particularly observing nature’s changes, such as the shifting colors of leaves or the budding of trees in spring. Seven years ago, she rekindled her passion for running, finding joy in the sights and sounds of nature during long and challenging races.
Demaris Brown is under the clinical supervision of Denise Adams, LCPC (license # LC9358).
