Tara Banks, LPC
Practicing Since: 2013
Tara received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Her therapeutic approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral while relying on the Holy Spirit’s guidance with each client and their specific need at the time. She provides therapy in the traditional office setting along with the option of video therapy when it is more convenient for the client.
Tara is currently licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from Liberty University, Tara has a passion for God’s Word. She strives to integrate a biblical perspective with evidence-based counseling techniques to serve her clients, understanding that the Lord is the true healer while the therapist is the willing instrument in his hand.
Tara grew up in Altoona before leaving for the U.S. Navy. She lived on the West coast for several years and traveled throughout the states before returning to her hometown in Pennsylvania. She has joined in missions trips with the Jesus Film Project to Central Asia and with the Church of the Brethren to help rebuild after hurricane Katrina. She enjoys traveling, the outdoors, reading and participating in meals ministry. Tara and her husband Tim live in Altoona.
